14 May [05.14]PLA BIODEGRADE MATERIAL FEATURES AND INTRODUCTION
PLA fiber is new ECO friendly fibers developed by USA,Japan and other countries, which is a kind of polymer materials, mainly component is polylactic acid.
Nicer Packaging is now developping PLA packagings for cosmetics and daily chemical.
PLA is made from regenerated plants( corns, wheats, grains, sugar beets ets) as the raw material, spinning them then we have PLA fibers. When we throw away these PLA fibers, they can decompose into water and CO2 which make plants growth through microbial action, They are biodegradable environmental protection fiber with natural circulation. During our current study on ECO friendly polymer fiber, biodegradable polymer fiber are in highly demand and rapid development.
PLA fiber can made from lots of places, It is recommended by many professors, called “ ECO friendly recycling materials in 21st century”.
PLA fiber is a kind of new ECO friendly fibers can be biodegradable. Because the raw material of PLA is lactic acid-made from natural renewable material, then the biggest advantage is that it doesn’t use petrochem and other chemical materials. Lactic acid can be biodegradable under the whole time.
PLA fiber raw material is lactic acid comes from starch, they are biodegradable. When we bury the wastes, after one or two years, fiber will degrade into CO2 and water through microbial action in water and soil. Under the biodegradable process, will produce CO2 which can be consumed under photosynthesis, will not pollute the environment.
Polylactic acid has good thermal stability, heating temperature is 170~230℃,good solvent resistance and can be produced in many ways. Such as injection blow molding etc. In addition to the biodegradation, the products made of PLA have good biocompatability, gloss, transparency, handle and heat resistance, as well as certain bacterial resistance, flame retardancy and UV resistance. Therefore, they are widely used as packaging materials.
Although Nicer Packaging has publised few PLA packagings, there are also some shortcomings of here, the most one is the price will be few times higher than normal PP jar because of expensive raw material and comprehensive processing cost.
If you are interested in PLA packaging, please contact us for more details, thanks.
PLA Packaging (Polylactic Acid Plastic)
PLA Packaging is a biodegradable plastic derived from renewable resources such as the starch found in corn. PLA plastic packaging material is very clear and can be easily recycled. Commonly, PLA is used for thermoformed applications in the food industry, but is increasing in popularity for the retail industry.
PLA Packaging Characteristics
